Biography
Jacqui Ryan is seizing her moment in time, it’s been a long wait but she is determined to make it worth everyone’s while. Jacqui has been driven and focused on developing and honing her skills in singing, song writing and performing. Now Jacqui’s back and she’s not going anywhere until she has reached her full potential in the Australian Country Music Industry.
This exciting and vibrant, young performer is renowned for her vocal qualities which are soaked with emotion, power and passion. She delivers her songs with such conviction and exquisitely uses light and shade. She left her fans mesmerized at her EP Launch on September 1st 2007 at “Steel Caps” in Brisbane. Jacqui Ryan has opened the Australian Showcase alongside artists such as Troy Cassar-Daley and the Feral Swing Katz at the Prestigious International Norfolk Island Country Music Festival, and performed alongside well known country artists such as Beccy Cole, Adam Brand, Carter and Carter, Brendon Walmsley and Michael King. Jacqui was awarded the Overall Senior Female Champion and the prestigious QLD Champion of Champions in 2003. She was a grand finalist in the 2004 Toyota Star Maker Quest and was awarded a scholarship to attend the CMAA College of Country Music, where she co-wrote with the talented singer/songwriter Lyn Bowtell.
In 2004 Jacqui was an invited back to Norfolk Island as one of five artists to represent QLD in the Trans Tasman Entertainer of the Year Awards. In September 2006 it was announced that “All I Wanna Do”, a product of Jacqui’s songwriting collaboration with Lyn Bowtell was named in the Top 10 of the MusicOz Awards, the biggest music competition in Australia. Following her success with MusicOz, Jacqui was then nominated as one of 5 finalists in the TIARA Independent Music Awards in the Vocal Collaboration section with Jason Ryan, the two recorded “Carry the Flame”, a stirring duet, full of inspiring energy, alluding to the spirit of the Olympics. The song can be found on Jason’s Debut Album, Long Summer’s Day. In March 2007, Jacqui commenced work on her debut EP “A Moment in Time”.
The 5 track EP was recorded at Touchwood Studios and produced by DUNCAN WOOD and RANDAL TERRENS. “A Moment in Time” includes four original songs which were all written or co-written by Jacqui. The first single “Unlucky in Love” co written with DAVID and MERELYN CARTER is available on NfS Publicity CD 116 and is already enjoying lots of airplay. Jacqui is currently focusing on songwriting for her album and preparing to tour throughout South East Queensland for the back end of 2007.
She plans to release her second single and a film clip in early 2008.
